Student Forum

At Woodgrove Secondary school, all students are encouraged to be active citizens of the school community. The student forum is a student led platform that gives them the opportunity to air their concerns and learn how to engage in meaningful dialogue with the school's leadership team. This empowers them consider various perspectives and gain an insight into the complexities involved when crafting policies to benefit the student body. We believe that through the student forum, Woodgrove can emerge as a school jointly built by both students and staff.

Student Led Events

We believe that our students can emerge as responsible adults who take ownership of their futures and communities through active citizenship. This means that we support our students in organising initiatives that make a difference. Events such as the the school's Talent Showcase, Woodgrove Awesome, the Secondary One Orientation Camp, Teachers' Day Celebrations and Values-in-Action Program are some examples of efforts put in by our students to foster as sense of belonging, pride and care for their community and beyond.

STEM for Sustainable Living Program

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and SG Green Plan, the school’s ALP focuses on providing opportunities for our students to apply Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in tackling sustainability-related issues. The school adopts a tiered approach to this.

Through Tier 1 ALP, our students will be introduced to sustainability-related issues faced by the world and Singapore through related subjects. All students will also be equipped with the twin enablers of Design Thinking and Coding through hands-on learning activities. The Design Thinking Process allows our students to take on a human-centric approach in solving problems, while coding expands the possibilities of the solutions our students can generate. As champions of sustainability, students are also encouraged to adopt sustainable living practices and promote these practices to the community.

For students with interest and/ or aptitude, Tier 2 ALP opportunities allow them to explore further and deeper in STEM and sustainability. Some examples of these opportunities include participating in interest-based workshops, online webinars, student-initiated projects, International Exchange with South Korea and Taiwan and serving as Environment Ambassadors.

The World is Our Classroom

Hitting the books and excelling the examination are important facets of student life. However, at Woodgrove Secondary School, we go beyond that. Learning becomes a multi-faceted experience where the boundaries between the classroom and the rich and diverse world beyond it is blurred. We do not just seek to empower our students to be book smart, we hope to develop students into becoming individuals who can appreciate the transference of knowledge from school to various circumstances in real life.
